GUILLAUME FELD
Guillaume is a seasoned dispute avoidance and dispute resolution lawyer. He is an attorney-at-law with the Paris Bar, a CEDR accredited mediator and a CMAP accredited arbitrator.
Before founding Geißel Federn Partners, Guillaume has worked as in-house counsel, then general counsel, for over 20 years with large multinational companies in the aerospace and construction industries.
Guillaume has participated in numerous cross-border transactions involving both contentious and non-contentious works. He has been seconded by THALES in Singapore as regional legal counsel (1999-2003) and by VINCI in Qatar as acting general counsel (2007-2013), before serving as general counsel of VINCI Construction Grands Projets (2013-2017).
In addition to his counsel work, Guillaume accepts appointments as arbitrator and mediator.
He is fluent in French and English.
Geißel Federn Partners is a founding member of LEAN Legal and Contract Services, an alliance of legal, contract management, delay analysis and quantum valuation specialists aiming at providing its clients with comprehensive legal and contract solutions during the life-cycle of their projects.
Book
Following the project lifecycle, Law and Practice of Major International Project, Legitech, Déc-2019 (in French) introduces: The project genesis; The project financing; The sourcing and structuring of the involved parties; The award of the project; The main contract; The translation of the main contract into sub-contracts; The contract management; Dispute avoidance and dispute resolution; Business ethics.
Guillaume Feld presents and contextualises familiar legal concepts, highlights the key part played by in-house legal counsels and contract managers in identifying and managing contract risks and opportunities, offers thoughts and tips to avoid disputes or, failing so, to advantageously resolve disputes.
Mr Guillaume Feld work should soon become as familiar and precious a tool for those who study, observe or get involved in whatever capacity in the thrill of “major international projects”. Jean-Michel Jacquet, Honorary Professor, Graduate Institute of international and Development Studies, Geneva
[One] can only recommend the reading of this book which present the specificities of major projects to all those who are involved therein: employers, contractors, administrations, [financial institutions,] experts and, more particularly, arbitrators and judges who, in the proceedings entrusted to their care, often lack the holistic view of the transaction giving rise to the dispute. Yves Derains, Founding Partner, Derains & Gharavi Law Firm, Paris
